Briefly in English - Apprenticeship training

Apprenticeship training is a form of education that serves employer’s, entrepreneur’s and employee’s needs. It is organized in cooperation with working places and educational establishments.

Apprenticeship training leads to same vocational qualifications, further vocational qualifications and specialist vocational qualifications than the education which is taught in educational establishments. Apprenticeship training also offers the possibility to other further education. 

Appreticeship contract can be made to person who already works for the employer, or to a new employee. Contract is based on a contract of employment of a definite duration. The contract shall be governet by collective bargaining agreement that defines the terms and conditions of employment (salary for example). An entrepreneur can also educate himself through apprenticeship training. Then the contract between entrepreneur and apprenticeship training office is based on contract of education – not on collective bargaining agreement. Minimum working hour/week is 25 h. 

Apprenticeship training is open to anyone who at the time of signing the contract has reached the age of 15. There is no upper age limit. The period of study is from 4 months to 4 years depending on the qualification. The education proceeds by an individual study programme. The apprentice spends 80 - 90 % of his training time in the workplace. Training at work is supplemented with theoretical studies in education establishments.
