Youth Workshop is a term for local multi-disciplinary organization established for employing and training youth without a job or education.

The most common target group are young people, long-term unemployed, socially disadvantaged with varying backgrounds.

Working methods used in Youth Workshops are Work Training and Individual Training for improving life management. Work training aims at improving working capacity - skills, educational capacity, etc. Individual training is for improving life management, general well-being and capacity for independent living, to prevent social exclusion. The key issue is to balance these aspects of training in a way which best serves the individual’s needs.

Rannikkopajat is a financially independent unit of Ekami, The Joint Authority of Education of Kotka-Hamina Region


Youth Act (693/2010 and HE 1/2010 vp)
For 13 to 28-year-old, who need information about:              

  • different school options
  • help with official agency transactions
  • money matters
  • courses
  • housing
  • or almost any life-related issues.

Work is based on the mobile youth work.

To be our client young doesn´t need referrals, promissory notes or any other similar status, only contact is enough. Based on free-will. Outreach youth work provides early support if young person wants to except it.

Take the guiding responsibility for the young person in the point when it ends with the other organisations.

  • Co-operation with different branches of industry, co-ordinating with the network. 
  • Accomplish youth service system.
  • Support existing guiding systems and possibly pinpoint and accomplish holes in the system.
